Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh: Modi sugar mill is likely to end the cane crushing season by mid-May. The mill is operating amid the coronavirus pandemic and the mill administration has stated that the mill will close operations only after purchasing and crushing all the cane grown by the farmers in the region.
The mill in the previous season had crushed 91.28 lakh quintal sugarcane and continued operations in May end. This year the mill has crushed 75 lakh quintal cane so far.
According to the news report published in Jagran.com, D D Kaushik, the official attached with the mill said that the mill will close operations with the purchase of record sugarcane. He has appealed to the cane farmers to send their cane to the mill before crushing ends.
