Moradabad: DM asks sugar mills to clear cane dues on time

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: District Magistrate Anuj Singh instructed sugar mill managers to ensure timely sugarcane payments, reported Amar Ujala.

He has directed officials to address farmers’ problems with urgency and ensure timely solutions. He emphasized the responsibility of the District Sugarcane Officer to provide farmers with high-quality sugarcane seeds. These instructions were given during a Farmer’s Day meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium.

Farmers from across the district attended the meeting, presenting their grievances and concerns to the District Magistrate. Farmers complained about sugar mills selling sugarcane seeds at inflated prices. The District Magistrate directed the District Sugarcane Officer to ensure farmers receive good quality sugarcane seeds.

The District Magistrate instructed all sugar mill managers to make sugarcane payments to farmers on schedule.

Kundarki MLA Ramveer Singh, SSP Satpal Antil, MDA Secretary Anjulta, Deputy Director of Agriculture Santosh Kumar Dwivedi, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Anil Kansal, District Agriculture Officer, District Sugarcane Officer, District Basic Education Officer, and other officials attended the meeting.
