Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: After the Uttar Pradesh government warned of strict action for delaying sugarcane payment, sugar mills have taken steps to expedite clearing the cane dues.
According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, sugar mills made record payments in June. This is highest in the last four years for June month.
The government is ensuring that farmers should not suffer because of pending cane dues. The state had asked officials to speed up the payment process. Recently, the District Magistrate had issued a notice to the sugar mills for non-payment.
District Sugarcane Officer Ajay Singh said pending cane dues is the priority. We are ensuring sugar mills clear the arrears on a priority basis. The remaining dues will also be cleared soon by sugar mills as we are making continuous efforts on the same.
