Moradabad: Sugarcane farmers in the district are now opting other ways to increase their income apart from cultivating the cash crop. One such farmer is Arendra, who is not only producing sugarcane but also making various products from sugarcane juice and sells them directly in the market, which is yielding him a good profit.
He is producing different products like laddus using cane and millet, ice cream and sweets using a cane, and other natural food items. This has helped him to get more returns than what he get from selling their cane to the sugar mills.
Arendra, a Sugarcane farmer based in Bilari, said, “For the last several years we have been working on how to increase our income by producing new products using sugarcane as we are not getting good returns by selling cane to the sugar mills. Now we are producing 15 different items using cane juice and selling them in the market”
“We are ready to help other farmers who are interested to join our venture. We will teach them this technique free of cost. Our shop is located at Bilari Vikas Bhavan,” he said.
“We have our presence in 8 states and we aim to produce our products using our machine and own cane. We are not using any chemical in the process keeping the content and taste original,” he said.
