Sugar prices continued their upward march on Friday extending Thursday’s gains amid concerns of smaller global sugar output. Thailand’s 2023-24 sugar production is expected to fall -15% as projected by the USDA.
Back home, buoyed by RBI’s decision to keep repo rate unchanged, both Sensex and Nifty ended the week in positive territory. Broad-based buying was seen on the sectoral front.
Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank and Tata Consumer Products were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included HUL, ONGC, Coal India, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paints.
