Sugar prices on Thursday moved moderately higher due to a decline in Brazil’s Center-South sugar production. Unica reported Thursday that Center-South sugar production in the second half of August was down -6.0% y/y to 3.258 MMT. However, for the 2024/25 season through August, sugar production is up +3.9% y/y to 27.169 MMT.
