Ethanol production at the Mumias sugar company will resume from Monday as the Kenya Power Limited Company (KPLC) reconnected power supply to the mill.
The company has fixed January 20 as a date to start ethanol production and will start sugar production later on. The factory was stopped for some time to repair and maintenance. The management had purchased material like bagasse and molasses for ethanol production.
The management has negotiated with KPLC for continuous power supply. Company management led by Francis Wabuke (acting general manager) toured the ethanol distiller unit recently. Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) had placed the miller under receivership.
