Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: Muzaffarnagar district performed well in terms of clearing cane dues. Five sugar mills in the district have paid the entire dues of the previous season. The farmers have received 95.26 per cent cane arrears.
The district had witnessed record purchase and sale of sugarcane in the 2019-20 season and continued operations till June end for the first time.
District Sugarcane Officer informed that other sugar mills are also taking steps in clearing the pending cane dues.
