Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: In response to the decision to use ethanol in petrol, four sugar mills in the district have produced a record 526 lakh 62 thousand quintals of B-heavy molasses this year. These mills, located in Khatauli, KhaiKhedi, Mansurpur, and Bhaisana, have received more than 6% B-heavy molasses from one quintal of sugarcane.
The ethanol produced by these mills is being supplied to petroleum companies. This year, the sugar mills have also made a significant profit through the production of ethanol. All eight sugar mills in the district are preparing to produce B-heavy molasses next season.
The production for ethanol is increasing significantly in line with the government’s target of 20 per cent ethanol blending by 2025.
