Mysuru: Mysore Sugar Factory, also known as Mysugar, has successfully produced a total of 1.68 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 2.41 lakh metric tonnes of sugarcane during the ongoing season, reported The Hindu.
Minister for Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy, who is also the Minister in charge of the Mandya district, disclosed this information while addressing the audience at the 75th Republic Day celebrations held at Mandya Police Parade Grounds on Friday.
Highlighting the state government’s commitment to Mysugar’s revival, Minister Cheluvarayaswamy mentioned that a grant of ₹50 crore had been allocated for this purpose. Crushing operations at Mysugar recommenced in July 2023 after a period of suspension, following its declaration as a sick unit in previous years.
The Republic Day event saw the presence of various officials, including MLA P. Ravikumar, Deputy Commissioner Kumar, Mandya Zilla Panchayat CEO Sheikh Tanveer Asif, Superintendent of Mandya District Police N. Yatish, and Additional Deputy Commissioner H.L. Nagaraju.
