Mysugar stops crushing operations

Mandya: Mysugar mill that started crushing operations after a brief gap stopped operations due to technical glitches after crushing 1 lakh tonnes of sugarcane in the last five months, reports The Times of India.

The factory can crush 3,000 tons of sugarcane daily and has set a target to crush 3 lakh tonnes of the cane after it began operations on September 1, 2022. Farmers are now forced to sell their sugarcane to other sugar mills.

S C Maduchandan, general secretary of Karnataka State Farmers Association said, “The sugar mill began operations without preparation and it should be revived after ensuring that the mistakes done earlier should not be repeated.”
