Nanded: Heavy rainfall has affected sugarcane and other crops grown in Vasmat area of the Nanded district, reports UNIINDIA.
State NCP president and former state minister Jayant Patil toured the rain-affected villages and inspected the damage to Agri fields on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Alegaon, Ekdara and Nila and other villages in the district, he said, “There is a crisis due to heavy rains in Maharashtra at present and due to cloudburst in Vasmat area, river water has entered into the villages. The entire village has been flooded and sugarcane and soybean crops have been completely destroyed, causing huge losses to farmers.”
‘The government should come forward and immediately provide relief to the farmers in the district,” Patil further added.
