Kathmandu: The Nepal government has kept the sugarcane price unchanged at Rs 536.36 per quintal for sugar season 2019-20. The price is with including a subsidy of Rs 65.28 per quintal.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the cabinet ministry took a decision on sugarcane price on Monday after considering minimum production cost of farmers, transportation fares, profits and the subsidy announced by the government.
The government also claims that the decision was taken after consulting sugarcane farmers and sugar mills.
