Shreeram sugar mill has agreed to clear the pending cane dues of the sugarcane farmers in one month. The mill administration assured this to the sugarcane farmers in a meeting organised in presence of Indradev Adhikari, Rautahat CDO.
As per the agreement, within a month the mill will call the farmers to pay their pending cane dues.
The mill has been closed for two years and has not cleared the cane dues of farmers since then. When the mill had shut its operations, it owed Rs 400 million to the cane farmers and till date, it had paid Rs 370 million to the farmers. The mill is yet to clear Rs 30 million to the cane farmers.
