Noida: Nexgen Energia, a sustainable energy solutions company, has announced its plans to invest around Rs 3,000 crore to establish a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Gujarat.
The company presented its investment proposal during a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel. Upon the commencement of the CBG plant, Nexgen Energia plans to directly supply compressed biogas to CNG pumps.
Nexgen Energia’s Managing Director, Piyush Dwivedi, said, “We are committing an investment exceeding Rs 3,000 crore to establish a Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant for CNG in Gujarat. Additionally, we plan to set up electric vehicle (EV) units and associated infrastructure in the state. Our proposal has been submitted to the Gujarat government, and we anticipate signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this initiative shortly.”
He further explained that the organic fertilizer produced during the CBG plant’s process, utilizing stubble and waste, will be provided to the farmers from whom the stubble is sourced. The combined investment of Rs 3,000 crore covers both CBG and electric vehicle (EV) projects. Once the CBG plant is operational, the company aims to supply CNG directly to the pumps.
Nexgen Energia has already established CBG plants in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. In addition to its Gujarat venture, the company has proposed significant investments in Uttar Pradesh during the Investors Summit.
