No more delays in sugarcane payments to farmers associated with Simbhaoli sugar mill

Hapur: There will be no delay now in payment to farmers associated with Simbhaoli Sugar Mill. The DM has directed the appointed IRP (Corporate Insolvency resolution process) to prepare an action plan for sugarcane price payment. Anurag Goyal has been appointed as the IRP representing  banks. Farmer organizations have been continuously protesting for the prioritization of their payments. In response, the DM Prerna Sharma convened a meeting on Tuesday with the IRP and officials from the sugarcane department, reported Amar Ujala.

The DM instructed that the farmers’ payments has to be made on a priority basis. She instructed the IRP to work out a plan ensuring smooth payment to farmers for the 2023-24 crushing season. The IRP, Anurag Goyal, informed that a report regarding sugar and other resources kept in the mill is being prepared and this might take two to three days. He assured that the farmers’ payments are now going to be made more efficiently, with their needs being accorded above all priority.
