New Delhi: From May 1, tourist vehicles running on ethanol, methanol, and batteries need not have to pay fees for obtaining and renewal of permits, reports The Times of India.
It has been made mandatory for the state transport authorities concerned to issue the permits for “All India Tourist Permit (AITP)” vehicles within seven days from the date of receiving applications.
The ministry has stated that if the department fails to issue permits within seven days then the permit shall be deemed to have been granted and generated through electronic system. According to the industry players, this would boost the ethanol and tourist sectors.
