Shahjahanpur: In response to the non-payment of dues to sugarcane farmers, the district sugarcane officer has issued orders to the Maqsoodapur sugar mill to clear the payment. Despite repeated directives, the mill has not fully cleared its outstanding dues to sugarcane farmers, causing unhappy among both the farmers and the authorities, reported Live Hindustan.
As per media report, farmers have gone to great lengths, from approaching the sugarcane department to reaching out to the district administration, in their efforts to receive their overdue payments. However, the pending payments have yet to be settled.
In the wake of the ongoing agitation by disgruntled farmers and their organizations due to the non-payment, the sugarcane department and the administration have not taken concrete measures to address the issue.
Following a meeting with the district magistrate, District Sugarcane Officer Jitendra Kumar Mishra has sent a notice to the Maqsoodapur sugar mill, instructing them to clear the pending dues owed to sugarcane farmers.
