Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: DM Raj Kama Yadav has issued notices to three sugar mills in the district for not clearing cane dues. He has also warned of action in case of non-payment of sugarcane bill.
According to the news report published in Jagran.com, Malakpur sugar mill owes cane dues of around Rs 461 crore to the cane farmers, Ramala and Baghpat cooperative mill are yet to pay Rs 259 crore.
Sugarcane farmers claim they are suffering from a financial crisis due to sugarcane payment failure by sugar mills.
District Cane Officer Dr. Anil Kumar Bharati said that DM has issued notices to the three sugar mills warning them of action if they fail to clear pending cane dues to the farmer.
