Meerut: Joint cane commissioner V B Singh inaugurated the E ganna app and sugarcane web portal in a programme organized in Meerut and asked the millers to connect cane growers with social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. He also appealed farmers to get details on toll-free number 1800-121-3203.
“The millers should weigh the sugarcane crop of farmers as per the rule, and our officials will conduct surprise checks at the places where weighing is done and will initiate action if they found violating the rules,” he added.
Earlier, the Cane Commissioner Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy informed that to ensure transparency in fortnightly transfer of weighment clerks, a lottery system is implemented and video of the entire process will be uploaded on the ERP website and will be circulated on social media.
In the larger interest of sugarcane farmers, the Commissioner has intensified exercise to eradicate the evil of under-weighment from the beginning of the crushing season 2019-20. In case under-wayment will found the FIR will be lodged against sugar mill alongwith original equipment manufacturer of weighbridges.
