NTPC signs MoU to explore feasibility of setting up bamboo-based bio-refinery

In a bid to explore the feasibility of setting up a bamboo-based bio-refinery at Bongaigaon in Assam, NTPC has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chempolis India, reports Projects Today.

Bamboo will be used as raw material to produce 2G ethanol, bio-coal for thermal power plants, and other products.

As per the information provided by the Ministry of Power, the project will be integrated with the NTPC Bongaigaon plant.

The company is committed to sustainable development and facilitates locally available resources to create new opportunities.
