Odisha approves 31 projects, including ethanol and compressed biogas

On Tuesday, Odisha’s State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved 31 projects totaling around Rs 5,000 crore.

This decision was made during the 131st meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja in Bhubaneswar. The approved projects, valued at Rs 4,954.26 crore, are anticipated to generate 24,162 job opportunities.

The projects span various sectors, including Mechanical & Electrical Capital Goods, Food Processing, Packaging, Apparel & Textiles, Bio-Fuel, Green Energy Equipment, ESDM, Steel (Ancillary), Non-Metallic Mineral Products (Refractory Products), Steel (Downstream), Plastics, Food, Beverage & Allied Sectors, Agro Processing, Tourism, Power & Renewable Energy, and Pharmaceuticals.

These projects will be implemented in districts such as Khurda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Angul, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Puri, Paradip, Koraput, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh.

Notable projects approved include:

In ethanol sector, Maa Chinnamastika Energy will invest Rs 104 crore in a grain-based ethanol plant, while IMFA (Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys) Ltd will establish a grain-based ethanol plant in Rayagada with an investment of Rs 139.9 crore.

Additionally, investments will be made in the compressed biogas sector. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited will invest Rs 200 crore in a compressed biogas and fermented organic manure plant, while Reliance Bio Energy will set up two plants—one in Sonepur and another in Sambalpur—each with an investment of Rs 121.21 crore.

Polimiroir India Pvt Ltd’s investment of Rs 128 crore for a manufacturing facility for industrial steel rollers with an annual capacity of 3,000 units.

Danieli India’s manufacturing facility costing Rs 190 crore and Parth Electricals and Engineering’s electrical equipment production unit with an investment of Rs 51 crore.
Bisleri International’s beverage production unit with an investment of Rs 95 crore, Jay Bharat Spices’ corn starch manufacturing at Rs 50 crore, and GAK Rice’s integrated rice mill with a capacity of 1,44,000 TPA at Rs 70.15 crore.

Shalimar Glass Works’ glass packaging unit with an investment of Rs 475.54 crore.

FM Denim and Twills’ garments manufacturing unit costing Rs 130 crore, and Tripathaga Textiles’s readymade garments production with a budget of Rs 53 crore.

Calderys India Refractories plans to invest Rs 698.71 crore in a refractory products manufacturing facility; Nawneet Marketing will set up an HR/CR coil processing and tube manufacturing unit in Jajpur for Rs 85.14 crore; and Gajanan Prabhu Saw Pipes will invest Rs 80 crore in a spiral welded pipe unit.

Neptunus Ship Builders & Recyclers will establish an integrated ship recycling industry with an investment of Rs 934.54 crore.

SNM Hotel and Resorts will develop a hotel-cum-resort in Puri with an investment of Rs 212.25 crore; Mayfair Hotels & Resorts will enhance its facilities at Paradip Panthanivas with Rs 105 crore; GM Infra-Tech will expand a resort in Koraput for Rs 81.11 crore; Crackers India Infrastructures will set up a 4-star resort in Kendrapada for Rs 56 crore; and Hotel Sonar Bangla Simlipal will create an eco-friendly resort in Mayurbhanj with a budget of Rs 51.04 crore.
