Mandya: The organic (chemical free) jaggery-making unit set up on a pilot basis under the ‘One District One Product’ scheme was inaugurated at V C Farm, Mandya by the Vice-Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, Dr. S V Suresh.
The jaggery unit was inaugurated during Agricultural Equipment Mela-2023.
The organic jaggery will be prepared in partnership with private parties and the farmers in the locality and around the V C Farm should supply quality sugarcane for this. The University of Agricultural Sciences wants to gift chemical-free jaggery to society,” said S V Suresh.
