Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction with the current sugar stock and stable prices in the domestic market on Wednesday.
Dar, who chaired the first meeting of the Cabinet committee overseeing sugar exports, emphasized the importance of starting the next production season by November 21 to ensure sufficient sugar supply across the country, according to a statement from his office. The committee noted that around $120 million in foreign exchange has been generated so far from exporting surplus sugar.
In a separate meeting, Dar led the 13th session of the steering committee on airport outsourcing. The meeting focused on progress in the technical evaluation of bids conducted by the International Finance Corporation. Authorities were instructed to complete the bidding process transparently and promptly by November 7.
