Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued orders on Monday to ban the export of sugar in the country.
Taking to the microblogging site Twitter, Sharif said that he has ordered a complete ban on the export of sugar.
The decision has been taken to maintain sugar stocks and prices stable, he said, stating that he has decided to take strict action against smuggling and hoarding.
According to the media reports, he has asked his economic team to focus on the needs of the country first and give priority to stabilizing prices. He has also directed them to check and acquaint him with the implementation of the ban.
