Pakistan: Now CCTV cameras in sugar mills

As a part of the Pakistan government’s strategy to keep check on the sugar prices, the government has decided to speed up the work of installation of cameras in sugar mills across the country. A meeting presided by Prime Minister Imran Khan took the decision in this regard on Wednesday.

During the meeting it was decided that the details about the tax collected by the provincial governments on sugar would be provided by the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR).

The meeting also decided to abolish the existing market committees in the two provincial governments of PTI. A competent person will be appointed to look after the affairs at district and Tehsil level till new arrangements are made.

PM Imran Khan said, “Our priority is to ensure that all the essential commodities including sugar would be available in adequate amount at all the utility stores. The estimates of the commodities should be completed as early as possible.”
