Pakistan: Sugar hoarded in 8000 bags recovered

Muzaffargarh, Pakistan: In a joint raid launched by the local administration and a special branch at a private godown, the teams recovered at least 8,000 bags of sugar.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Asghar Iqbal said, the godown has been sealed and the salesman present on the spot has been detained. We are yet to reveal his identity, he said.

The owner of the godown escaped from the scene. A case has been registered against both the accused with a police station of the concerned jurisdiction. The seized stock of 8,000 sugar sacks was illegally stored in the warehouse to be sold during the upcoming Ramazan, said the AC.
