Pakistan: Sugarcane Commissioner held responsible for sugar crisis; removed from the post

Lahore: After Pakistan hit by sugar crisis, PM Imran Khan came into action and ordered to investigate culprits behind the disaster. In an enquiry, Cane Commissioner Wajid Ali Shah was held responsible for the same.

According to the reports, Pakistan’s Punjab governor has appointed Nadeem Abbas Bhango as new sugarcane commissioner after removing Shah from the post. Bhango is Member of Revenue Board.

Shah was also working as the food director of Punjab. He is accused of misguiding the FIA officials for the sugar crisis. The FIA after the order of Prime Minister Imran Khan initiated an investigation to find culprits of the sugar and held him accountable for the sugar crisis. Shah was asked to step down on January 27 but he continued to retain the post.
