Pakistan: Sugarcane price to be hiked soon

Karachi: Manzoor Hussain Wasan, the advisor to the Chief Minister for Agriculture said that the decision of fixing sugarcane prices will be taken within a couple of days, reports Urdupoint.

The provincial government has fixed the price for cane from Rs 425 to 450 per 40 kg, he said.

He was speaking at a meeting organized to fix cane prices in Sindh for the forthcoming season.

The sugar millers want the price to be fixed at Rs 425 per maund while the farmer’s leaders want the price to be fixed at Rs 450 per maund.

We will decide on this soon, said Wasan, stating that the government will ensure that the farmers get good returns.
