Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Gurnam Singh Charuni on Sunday threatened to hold a major protest over cane payment in western Uttar Pradesh, reported Live Hindustan.
Charuni, who was speaking at the residence of former Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) district president Dr. Jagpal Tevatia, said that sugarcane farmers in the region are suffering. They are not getting the right price for their crop and payments are not being made on time.
“We will hold a big protest if the government does not take action to address the problems of sugarcane farmers,” Charuni said.
He was accompanied by BKU leaders Jitendra Singh, Vinod Arya, Ombir Singh, Devendra Dhama, Anil Daagar, Dharmpal Dhama, Amit Dhama, Phalhad, Dr. Raghavendra, Bijendra, and Satendra.
