Pepsico UK and Ireland will sell classic beverage Pepsi with 57 per cent less sugar, reports Business Today.
The classic Pepsi range will have 4.55g of sugar per 100 ml as against the 10g it had before, confirmed the international soft drinks conglomerate.
In an official statement, PepsiCo said that apart from lower sugar, Pepsi is sweetened with a blend of acesulfame potassium and sucralose, with 56% fewer calories from added sugars.
The new product will replace all canned and bottled classic Pepsi drinks across the UK and Ireland, it said.
