Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Phagwara, Anupam Kaler, has assured that the issue of overdue salaries and payments for JCT Mill employees will be addressed promptly.
In a meeting with administrative officials, she emphasized the need for serious attention to the matter. Phagwara SDM Jashanjeet Singh noted that the mill management did not have a representative at the meeting, resulting in the decision to arrange another meeting next week.
Kaler also mentioned that the outstanding payments to sugarcane farmers linked with the Phagwara sugar mill were discussed. Cane inspector Paramjit Singh confirmed that the mill owners have pledged to settle the pending payments by the end of August.
