Baghpat: According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, Pokkah Boeng disease infecting sugarcane crops is spreading in the district. After infection white spots develop on the leaves of sugarcane plants turning the leaves white and pale. If not treated in time the crop may completely be damaged.
Earlier, keeping in view the interests of sugarcane farmers, Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy had issued advisory to the departmental officers and sugar mill management for the protection of Sugarcane crop from Pyrilla, Grass hopper, Fall armyworm, and Black bug pests that attack crop during weather fluctuations.
