The steps have been taken in line with the Central government’s decision of advancing the 20% ethanol blending target to 2025.
Yesterday, Sudhanshu Pandey, Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) told reporters, “It is likely that ethanol distillation capacities in the country would be more than doubled by 2025 and India would be able to achieve 20 per cent blending target.”
The roadmap for ethanol blending in India 2020-25 was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 5 this year on the occasion of World Environment Day.
