Chennai: The state government should provide compensation to the farmers that have suffered crop loss due to summer rains, demanded former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, reports Daijiworld.
Sugarcane and banana crops grown over 1,000 acres of area in the Cuddalore district alone were completely damaged, he said.
Former CM has demanded the deployment of revenue and agriculture officials to the areas where summer rains have severely damaged the crops and take steps to provide compensation to the farmers.
