Jalandhar, Punjab: The operations of Golden Sandhar Mills Limited, Phagwara, will continue till February 20, 2023, reports The Indian Express. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave a nod to the operations of the sugar mill.
The government has decided to run the mill with conditions in the interest of farmers, said the Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister K Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal.
The government has formed the inter-departmental committee to ensure the payment of the cane farmers, he said.
“The committee would supervise the operations of the mill including the sugarcane coming to the mill, sugar recovery and sale of the products. The committee would submit a detailed report of the payment of cane to the farmers within 15 days to the sugarcane commissioner,” Minister said.
