Nakodar: According to the media report, sugarcane farmers from Nakodar, Shahkot and Phillaur subdivisions are yet to receive the pending cane dues worth Rs 13.64 crore from the Nakodar Cooperative sugar mill. The mill has not cleared the cane dues to the farmers for the season 2018-19.
The affected farmers alleged that payments to sugarcane farmers were being delayed even after they mentioned that the mill would be responsible to clear the bills within six months of their issuance.
The farmers have alleged that they have visited the mill several times demanding clearing of cane dues but neither the mill director nor the other officials were ready to address their problems.
The farmers have demanded the pending cane dues.
