Nakodar: Sugarcane farmers from Nakodar, Shahkot and Phillaur subdivisions are still awaiting the cane dues of Rs 11 crore for the season 2019-20 by the Nakodar Cooperative Sugar Mill Ltd.
According to the news report published in www.punjabnewsexpress.com, farmers claim that from November 2019, they are visiting the mill to get their bills cleared. However, the mill officials have not shown any interest in clearing the pending cane dues. The affected farmers alleged that payments to cane growers were being delayed even after they mentioned that the mill would be responsible to clear the bills within six months of their issuance.
