Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh: The Puranpur sugar mill is set to close its crushing season on March 13. The mill issued the first closure notice on Monday, reported Amar Ujala.
Dipti Dev Yadav, the GM of the mill, stated that all indents for sugarcane supply were issued two days in advance as per the supply calendar. According to the calendar, farmers in the region are currently out of sugarcane stock.
The mill has crushed 18 lakh quintals of sugarcane and produced 1.51 lakh quintals of sugar so far this season. Yadav informed that any remaining sugarcane with farmers should be delivered to the mill promptly. He also clarified that rejected sugarcane varieties will not be accepted under any circumstances.
