Belgavi, Karnataka: Incessant rainfall in the district in the last few days have damaged sugarcane and other crops leading to the loss of over Rs 315 crore. Apart from the crops, many houses have also been damaged and collapsed in the downpour.
According to the news report published in Newindianexpress.com, sugarcane and other crops in more than 35,000 hectares were badly damaged in many parts of the district.
Also over the past few days, heavy rains are causing trouble to farmers in central and south Maharashtra as well as the Konkan region.
