Keshoraipatan, Rajasthan: The farmers have decided to launch a protest at Legislative Assembly in Jaipur on February 13 for their demand of revival of Keshoraipatan sugar mill.
The farmers convened a meeting under the banner of Joint farmer coordination committee and took the decision in this regard.
MLA Chandrakanta Meghwal said, “It is essential that sugar mill should start operations in the interest of farmers and the region. The farmers’ voice will be placed at the Legislative Assembly. We will be part of the farmers agitation.”
The cooperative sugar mill of Keshoraipatan is lying defunct since 2004. The unit, which started in 1970, was closed due to financial losses in 2004.
