Rakesh Tikait attacks UP government for not increasing sugarcane SAP

Ghaziabad: Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union, has criticized the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision of not increasing the State Advisory Price (SAP).

He said, “Four years have passed since the SAP for sugarcane has been revised. Since 2017 the SAP of sugarcane has been increased only by Rs 10. The input cost of cane cultivation is rising following the increase in prices of diesel, urea and pesticides. The government kept the rates unchanged when half of the sugarcane has reached from fields to the factory for crushing.”

His reaction came after the UP Cabinet took a decision of not changing SAP for sugarcane for the on-going cane crushing season.
