Rampur: DM instructs all centres adhere strictly to regulations during cane weighing process

Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: Preparations for the 2024-25 sugarcane crushing season are in the final stage, with all sugar mills having cleared outstanding payments to farmers from the previous season. District Magistrate Joginder Singh held a review meeting in the collectorate conference hall, where he discussed the upcoming season’s preparations with officials from the sugarcane department and managers from various sugar mills, reported Live Hindustan.

District Cane Officer Shailesh Kumar informed the DM that Rudr-Bilas, Triveni, and Karim Ganj’s Rana sugar mill have fully cleared all dues for the 2023-24 season. The meeting also included a report on the conditions at various cane purchase centres managed by each mill.

The DM instructed that all centres adhere strictly to regulations during the weighing process and warned of strict action if any discrepancies were found. Additionally, he directed that officials’ contact numbers be made available at the centres and that reflectors be placed on vehicles transporting sugarcane to ensure convenience and safety for farmers.

Officials assured that all mills are ready to begin the crushing season on time and emphasized their commitment to timely payments to farmers for this year’s harvest.
