Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: Rana Sugar Mill has been directed to settle the outstanding payments to sugarcane farmers by August 20, reports Amar Ujala.
The instructions were issued during a meeting held in the Collectorate auditorium, where District Magistrate (DM) Joginder Singh provided directives to the officials.
DM Joginder Singh inquired about the delay in sugarcane payments from the District Sugarcane Officer and the manager of the sugar mill. The District Sugarcane Officer reported that only Rana Sugar Mill has pending payments to farmers in the district and that these payments have not yet been made. The manager of Rana Sugar Mill was given strict instructions to expedite the payments. The manager assured the DM that the outstanding payments would be made by August 20.
The DM also directed the District Sugarcane Officer to take action against the sugar mill if the payments are not made by the stipulated deadline of August 20.
