Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has criticized the UP government for not increasing State Advised Price (SAP) of sugarcane consecutively for the third year.
Jayant Chaudhary, national vice-president of the party said, “The government has ignored the hard work and the increasing input costs by not hiking SAP. The farmers were expecting the government to increase SAP for sugarcane as the prices of diesel, electricity, urea and other inputs are constantly increasing. However, the government has disappointed farmers.”
“The government actually wanted to decrease the SAP this year but had to give up the idea following the agitation of farmers. They are yet to receive arrears worth Rs 10,174 crore from the millers,” he further added.
