Swachh Bio, a company specializing in lignocellulosic biofuels, has announced plans to establish a 250 KLPD second-generation cellulosic biofuel plant in Telangana. The company will invest over ₹1,000 crore in the first phase of the project, which is expected to create 250 jobs at the plant and an additional 250 jobs in support and other roles.
The company also plans to establish additional plants in the state in the future, aiming to position Telangana as a biofuels hub.
Praveen Paripati, Chairperson of Swachh Bio, met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his team during the Chief Minister’s ongoing tour of the U.S.
Swachh Bio’s international partner, Suganit Biorenewables, has developed a patented technology for producing biofuels and biochemicals from biomass and cellulose.
An official statement noted that the State government has committed to providing all necessary support for the company’s investment in Telangana.
