Saharanpur: Preparations for upcoming sugarcane crushing season discussed in review meeting

Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Deputy Cane Commissioner O.P. Singh has instructed that, in all committees of this division, the printing of the Primary Cane Supply Calendar for the forthcoming sugarcane crushing season should begin with effect from September 1. He issued these instructions in a divisional review meeting, which had an agenda related to the preparations for the new season, reports Live Hindustan.

In the meeting, Singh discussed various issues related to the forthcoming season with computer in-charges and general managers of sugar mills. The minister also discussed supply logistics and the distribution of supply slips and calendars.

He also went through the unbonded cane areas and sought reports from senior cane development inspectors and sugar mills. He instructed that ongoing surveys of sugarcane in the remaining villages be completed as soon as possible. Any type of undue delay in this regard will result in accountability, followed by action against those responsible.

He also directed the Senior Cane Development Inspectors to coordinate with sugar mills to prepare a chart for planting autumn cane. He also asked them to organize awareness programmes among farmers. He also issued directions that all agricultural inputs should be made available at the warehouses of cane committees to help farmers during the season.
