Gangoh, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttam sugar mill, Shermau has completed payments to farmers for all sugarcane purchased during the current crushing season up to March 7, 2024. The payments were made through cane committees, reported Live Hindustan.
Sukhwinder Jeet Singh, Senior Vice President of the mill, appealed to farmers to supply all their sugarcane to the mill to avoid issues with base quotas in the next crushing season. He also urged them to adopt trench cultivation methods for advanced sugarcane varieties in larger areas and intercrop with other crops to maximize their profits.
Singh assured farmers that the mill would buy all their sugarcane and requested them to supply clean, fresh, and disease-free cane.
