The Union ministry of chemicals and fertilizers has issued directions to Kribhco in this regard.
Formal approvals have been accorded by the ministry for establishing the Bio-Ethanol project at Sarvepalli.
Tirupati MP Dr M Gurumoorthy along with the officials of the APIIC and AP industries depart met the minister Bhagawanth Khuba who holds a portfolio of Chemicals and Fertilizers on Tuesday and discussed the issue regarding setting up of the plant.
Dr Gurumoorthy thanked the minister for approving the project to be set up in his constituency.
The project would attract investment in the constituency as well as generate employment in the region.
Kribhco had borrowed 289.81 acres of land from APIIC to set up a phosphate and DAP (Fertilizer) manufacturing plant with an investment of Rs 700 crore but the project has stuck up due to logistics and other reasons. Dr Gurumoorthy later asked the APIIC to find an alternative to set up a new industry there when the idea of setting up a Bio-Ethanol project surfaced.
