SBEC Sugar Ltd has received Consent to Establish (CTE) for the expansion of its plant capacity to 10,000 tonnes of cane crushed per day (TCD).
SBEC Sugar is located in Village Malakpur, District Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. The plant initially started with a crushing capacity of 3,500 TCD, which has since been gradually increased to 9,000 TCD.
In an exchange filing, the company stated, “It is hereby informed that our company has received consent to establish (CTE) for expansion of the plant capacity to 10000 TCD under the provisions of Water (Prevention and control of pollution) Act, 1974 as amended and Air (Prevention and control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as amended from the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB).”
Following the news of the plant expansion, the company’s stock hit the upper circuit limit today.
Earlier, in its annual report for 2024, the company had informed that it was considering augmenting its production capacity to 10,000 TCD in due course. The first phase of the expansion, which increased the plant’s capacity to 9,000 TCD, was completed and became operational in FY 2022-23. The company is now considering the second phase to increase its capacity to 10,000 TCD.
